  • Idli rice-half cup, urad dal-1/3 cup, Fenugreek seeds-half teaspoon, carrot- 1(grated), tomato-1(slice and triangle shape), black pepper- 10, salt- half teaspoon, oil- for grease.

    Wash rice and dal seperatelSoak in water for 5-6 hrSoak fenugreek seed with ricGrind it with water separately to a fine pastLeave it for 6-7 hrs for fermentatioBoil water in Idli utensiAdd salt to batter & mix iGrease tray with oil and pour batter into iAdd carrot to up side like hair, pepper like eyes, tomato triangle shape like nose, tomato slice like mouth and cook for 10 miPut knife into it to check, if it's clean then it's ready to take ouServe with tomato chutney & coconut chutney and samber.
