INGREDIENTS

  • for mixture 1
  • ½ boiled yam
  • 1½ tbsp oil
  • ½ tsp mustard seeds
  • 10 to 15 curry leaves
  • 1 tbsp coconut
  • ½ tsp red chilli powder
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • salt
  • ½ lemon juice
  • for mixture 2
  • : 2 tbsp ghee
  • ½ tsp cumin powder
  • 1 cup green peas
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • salt
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves
  • 1 cup milk
  • For sauce
  • 1½ tbsp ghee
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds
  • 1½ tbsp refined flour
  • 2 cups coconut milk
  • 1 tbsp green chutney
  • ½ tsp green chilli paste
  • For garnish
  • sweet potato chips
  • 1 red amaranth leave
  • salt
  • lemon juice

PREPARATION

    Heat oil in a saucepan. Add mustard seeds curry leaves, grated coconut, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, yam, salt and lemon juice. Toss it well.

    For green peas mixture: Melt ghee in a saucepan. Add cumin seeds green peas, ginger garlic paste, salt, red chilli powder and chopped coriander. Mash the green peas.

    Take a baking bowl and make layers of the yam mixture and green peas mixture. Then pour milk over it.

    Preheat the oven to 170 180 C and bake it for 15 to 20 minutes.

    For the sauce: Melt ghee in a saucepan. Add cumin seeds and refined flour. Mix it well.

    Add coconut milk, green chutney and green chilli paste. Mix it well.

    Garnish the baked yam with green sauce and sweet potato chips and amaranth leaves.
