INGREDIENTS

  • 1 bunch spinach, chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic, chopped
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • ½ tsp green chillies, chopped, Sea salt to taste
  • 2 tsp white sesame seeds, Crushed black pepper as required
  • 5-6 phyllo sheets
  • 100 gm feta cheese
  • FOR garnish
  • 1spinach leaf fried
  • feta cheese
  • ½ tsp green chillies
  • Crushed black pepper as required
  • Salt to taste
  • Sea salt

HOW TO PREPARE GREEK SPANAKOPITA

    Heat the oil in a pan.

    Add the chopped garlic, spinach, and green chillies.
  3. 3

    Add the sesame seeds and cook for two to three minutes.
  4. 4

    Switch off the gas and let the mixture cool.
  5. 5

    Take the phyllo sheets and apply oil at their edges.
  6. 6

    Cut them in half.
  7. 7

    Place the mixture at the centre of a phyllo sheet.
  8. 8

    Crumble some feta cheese over the mixture.
  9. 9

    Cover this with the remaining phyllo sheet.

    Seal the edges.

    You can make different shapes with the stuffed phyllo sheets , Deep fry the spanakopitas.

    Fry one leaf of spinach for garnishing , In a bowl, add feta cheese, green chillies, crushed black pepper, and salt and mix well.

    Spoon this mixture and place it on the serving dish.

    In the serving dish, place the fried Spanakopita alongside the feta cheese mixture and garnish with the fried spinach leaf and a sprinkle of sea salt.
