INGREDIENTS

  • oil as required
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 green chilli
  • 1 tsp oil
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 onion
  • 8-10 curry leaves
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp red chilli powder
  • salt to taste
  • ½ tsp asafoetida
  • ½ cup tamarind water
  • ½ cup sugarcane jaggery
  • 4 green chillies
  • ½ cup gram flour
  • ½ tsp red chilli powder
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • water as required
  • oil as required
  • 2 cup puffed rice
  • 2 green chillies
  • ½ cup peanuts
  • coriander leaves
  • pomegranate seeds as required

PREPARATION

    Take oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, garlic cloves, green chilli, finely chopped onion, curry leaves, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt, asafoetida, tamarind water and sugarcane jaggery and cook for 2 minutes.

    In a bowl mix together gram flour, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and water and make paste.

    Cover the green chilies with this paste and fry them.

    In another bowl combine puffed rice, green chillies, peanuts, finely chopped onion and coriander leaves and mix this with the girmit sauce.

    Garnish with fried chillies and pomegranate seeds.
