  • Jaggery
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 2 cup soaked, rice
  • 2 - 3 tbsp cooked rice
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 cup almonds
  • Mustard oil for frying
  • Salt as per taste
  • For garnish : Roasted almonds

    In a bowl, add water, chopped jaggery, cardamom powder and leave it to melt In a blender jar, add soaked rice, jaggery water and prepare a paste Add cooked rice and blend it again.

    Dry roast the almonds in a heated pan Finely chop the almonds.

    Add the paste in a bowl Add cardamom powder, baking powder, salt as per taste, lemon zest, jaggery mixture and prepare a batter Add the batter in the heated mustard oil using a spoon Fry it until it turns brown.

    Garnish the Ghila Pitha with chopped roasted almonds and serve.
