INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup grated coconut
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp black peppercorns
  • 2 tsp coriander seeds
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 tamarind deseeded
  • 1 cup Lukewarm water
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 to 5 tbsp chopped onions
  • 1 tbsp chopped ginger
  • tsp turmeric powder
  • 4 to 5 tbsp chopped tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp coconut milk
  • 3 mackerel fish
  • 4 to 5 green chillies
  • slit
  • vinegar
  • salt
  • coriander

PREPARATION

    In a grinder take some grated coconut, cumin seeds, black peppercorns, coriander seeds, garlic cloves, deseeded tamarind and grind well. Pour a little lukewarm water into the ground mixture and grind again. Strain the mixture into a bowl. Heat olive oil in a pan. Saute chopped onions chopped ginger, turmeric powder, chopped tomatoes. Add a little salt for seasoning. Pour a little coconut milk into the masala. Add fish pieces to the masala and cook them for some time. Pour the strained mixture in the bowl to the fish masala. Add green chillies and a little vinegar. Cook the whole for three to four minutes. When ready, transfer it to a serving plate. Garnish the dish with coriander.
