Doodh Saar

Doodh Saar is a popular Maharashtrian delicacy that was first made in a small town Radhanagri in Maharashtra. This is a spicy curry made using milk and the famous Kolhapuri masala.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 1/2 tbsp coriander seeds
  • 1 1/2 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2 large cardamoms
  • 1 tbsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp coconut
  • 2 red chilies
  • 2 potatoes
  • 2 onions
  • 3 - 4 tbsp oil
  • 5 tbsp kolhapuri masala
  • 1 ltr raw milk

HOW TO PREPARE DOODH SAAR

  1. 1

    Roast coriander seeds, sesame, black pepper, red chilli, cardamoms on a hot pan and grind them into a fine powder.
  2. 2

    In a pot, heat oil and add finely chopped onions, chopped potatoes, kohlapuri masala, freshly ground masala and saute well.
  3. 3

    Add the milk and cook till potatoes are done.
  4. 4

    Doodh Saar is ready.
  5. 5

    Serve it hot with Kohlapuri masala and salt.
