INGREDIENTS

  • 7-8 pieces of fish slices
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp mustard oil
  • 1 cup curd
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp yellow mustard paste
  • FOR gravy
  • 2 tbsp mustard oil
  • 1 tsp panch phoran
  • 1 whole red chilli
  • 1 sprig curry leaves
  • 2 sliced onions
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • salt as per taste
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp grama masala

HOW TO PREPARE DOI MACCHO

  1. 1

    Marinate the fish in a bowl with turmeric powder and salt for 15 minutes.
  2. 2

    In a heated pan, add mustard oil and shallow fry the fish.
  3. 3

    In a bowl, add curd, sugar, salt, yellow mustard paste and mix it well.
  4. 4

    In another pan, add mustard oil, panch photo, dry red chilli, curry leaves, chopped onions, ginger-garlic paste, salt as per taste and red chilli powder and let it cook.
  5. 5

    Add the curd mixture and keep stirring it until it boils.
  6. 6

    Add garam masala and mix it well.
  7. 7

    Add the fried fish pieces and mix it.
  8. 8

    Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve it hot.
