INGREDIENTS

  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/4 cumin seeds
  • 2 tbsp grated coconut
  • 1 cup braken wheat
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 cup chopped carrots
  • 1/4 cup green peas
  • 1 tsp chopped green chilli
  • 2 parts 1 part daliya
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  • 6 no curry leaves
  • 1 tsp chopped green chilli
  • 2 tsp grated coconut
  • salt
  • 1/2 tbsp lemon juice

PREPARATION

    Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan and add 2 tsp chopped ginger, ¼ tsp mustard seeds, ¼ tsp cumin seeds and sauté. Add 2 tbsp grated coconut, 1 cup broken wheat and sauté again. Add 1 tsp turmeric powder, ¼ cup chopped carrots, ¼ cup green peas, 1 tsp chopped green chilli and sauté again. Add 2 cups water and mix well. Cover the pan and cook for 12-15 minutes. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan and add ¼ tsp mustard seeds, 6 curry leaves, 1 tsp chopped green chilli, 2 tsp grated coconut and mix well. Add the daliya mixture to the pan, salt and mix well. Add ½ tbsp lemon juice. Daliya Upma is ready. Garnish it with coconut and salad.
