INGREDIENTS

  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 tsp ginger
  • ¼ tsp mustard seeds
  • ¼ tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 tbsp grated coconut
  • 1 cup Broken wheat
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • ¼ cup carrots
  • ¼ cup green peas
  • 1 tsp green chillies
  • water
  • 6 curry leaves
  • salt
  • ½ tbsp lemon juice

HOW TO PREPARE DALIYA UPMA

  1. 1

    Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan and add 2 tsp chopped ginger, ¼ tsp mustard seeds, ¼ tsp cumin seeds and sauté.

    Add 2 tbsp grated coconut, 1 cup broken wheat and sauté again.
  3. 3

    Add 1 tsp turmeric powder, ¼ cup chopped carrots, ¼ cup green peas, 1 tsp chopped green chilli and sauté again.

    Add 2 cups water and mix well.
  5. 5

    Cover the pan and cook for 12-15 minutes.
  6. 6

    Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan and add ¼ tsp mustard seeds, 6 curry leaves, 1 tsp chopped green chilli, 2 tsp grated coconut and mix well.

    Add the daliya mixture to the pan, salt and mix well.
  8. 8

    Add ½ tbsp lemon juice.
  9. 9

    Daliya Upma is ready.
