INGREDIENTS

  • FOR DAL:
  • Toot Dal: 1.5 cups
  • Tomatoes: 2
  • Onions: 2
  • Green chillies: 2
  • Red chilly powder: 1.5 tsp
  • Coriander powder: 2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder: 1/2 tsp
  • Asafoetida (Hing): 1/8 tsp
  • Sugar: 1.5 tsp
  • Jeera: 1 tsp
  • Oil: 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander leaves to garnish
  • FOR RAVIOLIS DOUGH:
  • Wheat flour: 3/4 cup
  • Gram flour (besan): 1/8 cup
  • Salt: 1/4 tsp
  • Red chilly powder: 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder: 1/2 tsp
  • Ajwain (Carrom seeds): 1 tsp
  • Oil: 1 tsp
  • Coriander leaves: 1 tbsp
  • Water to knead the dough
  • Water to boil
  • FOR STUFFING:
  • Paneer: 150 gms or 1/2 cup grated
  • Cheese: 2 cubes
  • A pinch of salt
  • Oregano (optional): 1/4 tsp

PREPARATION

    Soak toor Dal for 2 hours.

    Boil by adding salt and turmeric. Keep aside to cool.
  3. 3

    Make ravioli dough by mixing all ingredients and kneading a soft dough.
  4. 4

    Prepare stuffing by mixing grated cheese, grated Paneer, salt, and oregano. Combine well.

    Roll the dough and cut circular raviolis using a bottle cap or a cookie cutter.

    Take one piece, place 1 tsp stuffing over it. Cover it using another piece. Seal the edges by pressing with a fork ( for seeing the technique swipe right on this posPrepare all raviolis like this and add to boiling water. Add a pinch of salt and 1 tsp oil in boiling water. Boil for 15 minutes on high flame.

    Strain all raviolis and keep aside gently to cool.

    For Dal, crush tomatoes, onions, green chillies in a mixer and keep adide.

    Prepare tadka for Dal by heating oil in kadhai. Add Hing and jeera. Allow to crackle.

    Add tomato onion paste and cook till oil is released.

    Add dry masala and cook for another 3-4 minutes. Add boiled Dal, and sugar.

    Take 2-3 boils.

    Gently add all raviolis and cook on medium flame for 5 minutes.

    Serve hot with onion salad or papad.
