INGREDIENTS

  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp Bengal gram
  • 1 tsp urad dal
  • 1 dry red chillies
  • 1 tsp ginger, asafoetida
  • 5-6 curry leaves
  • 3-4 cashew nuts
  • 1 cup coconut, Salt to taste
  • 2 cups rice

HOW TO PREPARE COCONUT RICE

    Heat oil in a pan.

    Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, Bengal gram, urad dal and red chilli, roast them well.
  3. 3

    Add ginger paste, asafoetida, curry leaves and cashew nuts into the pan.
  4. 4

    Saut� till the cashew nuts turn golden brown.
  5. 5

    Add the grated coconut and salt.
  6. 6

    Saut� the ingredients well.
  7. 7

    Mix the cooked rice and cook it for 4-5 minutes.
  8. 8

    Your South Indian coconut rice is ready to be served.
