Chole Palak Ka Pulav

INGREDIENTS

  • 7 tbsp ghee
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 cups soaked chickpeas
  • salt as per taste
  • 2 green tomatoes
  • 1 finely chopped onion
  • 2 - 3 green chillies
  • 1-inch ginger finely chopped
  • 1 finely chopped tomato
  • 3 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp chilli powder
  • 1 cup spinach puree
  • 1 finely chopped tomato
  • 3 pickled onions
  • ½ tsp kasoori methi
  • 1 - 2 cups cooked rice
  • lemon juice
  • pickled onions for garnish

HOW TO PREPARE CHOLE PALAK KA PULAV

  1. 1

    Heat ghee in a pressure cooker and add cumin seeds. Then add chickpeas, water, salt and chopped green tomatoes. Pressure cook the chickpeas until cooked.

    Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, finely chopped ginger, chopped onions, turmeric, coriander powder, chilli powder and saute well.

    Add chopped tomatoes and cook until soft. Add chickpea stock, cooked chickpeas, spinach puree, ghee and mix well.

    In another pan, heat ghee and add cumin seeds, pickled onions, chopped tomatoes, kasoori methi and mix well.

    Add cooked rice, chickpeas and spinach mixture and mix well. Cover the pan and let the rice cook for a bit.
  6. 6

    Garnish the rice with pickled onions. Chole Palak Ka Pulav is ready to serve.
