INGREDIENTS

  • 6 prawns
  • 2 tbsp mustard oil
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 - 5 green cardamom
  • 2 tbsp onion paste
  • 1/2 tsp ginger paste
  • 1/2 tsp green chilli paste
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 2 tbsp poppy seeds paste
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 200 ml coconut milk

PREPARATION

    In a pan, add mustard oil and let it warm. Add the marinated prawns and cook it until it turns orange in colour. Remove them in a plate.

    In the same pan, add mustard oil, bay leaf, cinnamon stick, green cardamom and saute. Add onion paste and let it cook.

    Add ginger paste, green chilli paste and mix it. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and stir it.

    Add poppy seeds paste and cook it. Add water and stir it nicely. Add coconut milk, mix it and let it and boil. Add prawns and let it cook for 3 - 4 minutes.

    Serve the curry with rice.
