  • 1 cup chenna
  • 1 tbsp mustard oil
  • 1 tsp panch poran
  • pink salt as per taste
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 squeezed lemon
  • 2 tbsp yellow mustard seeds
  • 2 tbsp poppy seeds
  • 3 green chillies
  • turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp brown sugar
  • banana leaves
  • 1 green chilli

    In a heated pan, add mustard oil, panch poran masala and let it splutter. Add all the spices in the chenna.

    Add salt as per taste, cornstarch, lemon juice, mix it well and prepare a smooth dough.

    In a blender jar, add yellow mustard seeds, poppy seeds, green chillies, pink salt as per taste, a pinch of turmeric powder, brown sugar, lemon juice, water as required and prepare a smooth paste.

    Add water again and blend it. Add the paste in a bowl. Cut the banana leaf into half. Add the masala mixture, chenna. Layer the chenna again with masala and add green chilli.

    Seal the banana leaves and secure it with a toothpick. Steam it for 20 minutes.
