Chana Masala
Here is a delicious tangy chickpea curry called chana masala. It is one of the most popular delicacies of the Punjabi cuisine. This dish is best accompanied with bhature, a type of flatbread made using maida.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup soaked overnight and boiled chickpeas
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 1 cup sliced onion
  • 1 cup sliced Tomatoes
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 to 2 chopped green chillies
  • 2 tsp chole masala
  • 1 tsp ginger juliennes
  • salt to taste
  • For Garnish: Coriander leaves

HOW TO PREPARE CHANA MASALA

    Heat oil in a cooker and saute sliced onion till the slices turn slightly brown.

    Add ginger garlic paste and sliced tomatoes.
  3. 3

    Also turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder and salt.

    Add sufficient water and fry the masala well.
  5. 5

    5Add chopped green chillies and the boiled chickpeas and mix well.
  6. 6

    Add chole masala and more water if required.
  7. 7

    Pressure cook it for three whistles or more till soft.
  8. 8

    When cooked, transfer it to a serving vessel.
