INGREDIENTS

  • For fried fish
  • fish as required
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • salt
  • water
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 3 to 4 cloves garlic
  • 50 gm fresh coriander leaves
  • ½ cup besan
  • oil for frying
  • For chukkh
  • 1 onion
  • 3 to 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 16 kashmiri red chilli's
  • 1 tsp fennel seeds
  • ½ tsp fenugreek seeds
  • ½ tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp carom seeds
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 tbsp mustard oil
  • 2 tbsp raisins
  • 1 tbsp tamarind pulp
  • 2 tbsp dry mango powder
  • salt
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • a pinch of asafoetida

PREPARATION

    For Fried Fish:Mix lemon juice, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt, water and make a paste.

    Apply the paste on the fish inside outside.

    Marinate for an hour.
  4. 4

    Make a paste of ginger, garlic, coriander leaves and green chillies.
  5. 5

    Apply the paste generously on fish.
  6. 6

    Slightly coat fish beson.
  7. 7

    Deep fry fish till crisp and golden brown.

    Chamba fried fish is ready.

    For Chukkh: Make paste deseeded and boiled kashmiri red chillies, onion, garlic, green chillies and ginger.

    dry roast fennel, fenugreek seeds, mustard seeds, carom seed, cumin seeds and make powder.

    Add powder masala in mustard oil and saute.

    Add red chillies paste and saute.

    Add raisins, tamarind pulp and mix well.

    Add dry mango powder, honey and salt as per taste.

    Add pinch of asafoetida and cook for sometime.

    Serve fried fish with chukkh.
