INGREDIENTS

  • 4 tbsp mustard oil
  • 1 cinnamon sticks
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 green cardamoms
  • 2 cloves
  • 1/2 tsp fennel seeds
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 tbsp onion paste
  • 3-4 garlic cloves
  • 2-inch ginger
  • 1 tbsp turmeric chilli paste
  • 1 chopped tomato
  • 1 cup pumpkin
  • 1 cup cauliflower
  • 1/2 cup radish
  • 1 cup warm water
  • Salt and Sugar
  • 1/2 semi/papdi
  • 1/2 green peas
  • 1 cup gobindbhog rice
  • 100 grams raisins
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • Bengali garam masala

HOW TO PREPARE CHAL DIYE SOBJI

  1. 1

    In a heated pan, add mustard oil, cinnamon sticks, cumin seeds, green cardamom, cloves, fennel seeds, bay leaves and let it splutter.

    Add the paste of onion, ginger-garlic, red chilli, turmeric and saute.
  3. 3

    Add chopped tomato, pumpkin, cauliflower, radish, warm water and mix it. Add salt as per taste, a pinch of sugar, papdi, green peas and toss it.
  4. 4

    Add gobindbhog rice, raisins, ghee, Bengali garam masala and mix it well and let it cook.
  5. 5

    Garnish with grated beetroot and coriander leaves.
