INGREDIENTS

  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • pinch of asafoetida
  • 2 whole red chillies
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1 cup black dal
  • 2 cup water
  • 1 cup rice
  • salt as per taste
  • For tadka
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 2 whole red chillies
  • ½ tsp red chilli powder
  • For khyoor
  • 1 cup refined flour/ maida
  • salt
  • water for the batter
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • For garnish
  • sugar

PREPARATION

    In a heated pan, add ghee, cumin seeds, asafoetida, whole red chillies, ginger and saute.

    Add black dal, water, salt and let it cook. Add soaked rice and cover the pan to cook Black dal khichdi.

    In a heated pan, add ghee and let it warm. Add whole red chillies, red chilli powder and let it splutter.

    Pour the tadka in the Khichdi and serve with papad.

    For khyoor, in a bowl, add refined flour, salt, water and mix it well. In a heated pan, add ghee and pour the batter. Cook it until its done. Serve with sugar and ghee.
