Besan Masala Roti
This is a classic North Indian flavourful roti made with gram flour and other spices.

  • 2 chopped onions
  • 2 cups gram flour
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp chaat masala
  • 3 to 4 chopped green chillies
  • 2 tbsp Yogurt
  • 1 tsp mustard oil
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • Rice flour for dusting
  • salt to taste
  • water
  • For Serving Pickle
  • For Garnish: Coriander sprig

    In a bowl combine gram flour with chopped onion.
  2. 2

    Season with salt, coriander powder, cumin seeds, chaat masala, chopped green chillies, and yogurt.

    Mix well.

    Add mustard oil and knead to prepare the dough for the roti.
  5. 5

    Keep the dough aside for 15 min.
  6. 6

    Pinch small balls from the dough.
  7. 7

    Press and flatten each ball using a rolling pin to make roti.
  8. 8

    Heat a pan and cook the roti on both sides.
  9. 9

    Apply little ghee on both sides while roasting.
  10. 10

    Garnish besan masala rotis with coriander sprig and serve the hot with pickle.
