Apple Cinnamon Skillet Cake

  • 1 cup Refined flour
  • 1 tbsp icing sugar
  • ½ tbsp baking powder
  • ¼ tbsp cardamom, powdered
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • 2 slices apple
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tbsp sugar, granulated
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon powder
  • FOR caramelised apple
  • 1apple
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • ½ tsp Vanilla syrup
  • Water as required
  • FOR garnish
  • Caramelised apple sauce
  • icing sugar
  • cardamompowdered

    In a bowl, prepare batter with refined flour, icing sugar, baking powder, cardamom powder, olive oil, soft butter, buttermilk and egg.

    Put some oil in a heavy bottomed pan.
  3. 3

    Remove the excess oil and add it to the batter and mix well.
  4. 4

    Pour the entire batter onto the pan and spread it well.
  5. 5

    Cut the apples into fine slices , Top the batter with the apple slices, granulated sugar and cinnamon powder.

    Bake the cake for 15 minutes in a pan and invert it onto a plate.
  7. 7

    Using another plate, once again invert the cake.
  8. 8

    Cut three slices from an apple and in a pan, adding butter, icing sugar, water and the apple slices, caramelise them.
  9. 9

    Remove the apple slices and add vanilla syrup.
  10. 10

    Garnish the cake with the caramelised apple, icing sugar, and cardamom powder.
