INGREDIENTS

  • 2 tsp ghee
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 cup onions
  • 1 green chilli
  • 10-12 curry leaves
  • 1 ginger
  • 1 cup tomatoes
  • 1/4 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, asafoetida, Salt to taste
  • 1 cup arhar dal
  • 1 cup water

HOW TO PREPARE ANDHRA TOMATO DAL

    In a cooker, add ghee, mustard seeds, cumin seeds and chopped onions.

    Saut� well.
  3. 3

    Add green chillies, curry leaves, ginger and tomatoes.
  4. 4

    Continue to mix the ingredients.
  5. 5

    Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, asafoetida and salt.
  6. 6

    Keep stirring them.

    Add arhar dal.
  8. 8

    Saut� well.
  9. 9

    Add one cup of water and close the cooker.
  10. 10

    Cook for 7- 8 minutes.
  11. 11

    Then, wait for 10 minutes till you open the pressure cooker.
  12. 12

    Serve the dal in a bowl.
