INGREDIENTS

  • 2 tsp ghee
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 cup onions
  • 1 green chilli
  • 10-12 curry leaves
  • 1 ginger
  • 1 cup tomatoes
  • 1/4 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • asafoetida
  • salt to taste
  • 1 cup arhar dal
  • 1 cup water

PREPARATION

    In a cooker, add ghee, mustard seeds, cumin seeds and chopped onions, saute well.

    Add green chillies, curry leaves, ginger and tomatoes.

    continue to mix the ingredients.

    Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, asafoetida and salt.

    Keep stirring them.

    Add arhar dal and saute well.

    Add one cup of water and close the cooker.
  8. 8

    Cook for 7- 8 minutes.

    Wait for 10 minutes till you open the pressure cooker.

    Serve the dal in a bowl.
