INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup soaked basmati rice
  • salt as per taste
  • water as required
  • ½ tsp saffron strands
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 2 cardamoms
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • ½ cup chopped dry fruits
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup khoa
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 4 - 6 big pieces of pineapple
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • rose petals
  • mint leaves

PREPARATION

    In a pot, heat water and add soaked rice, salt and saffron strands.

    Cook until the rice is done.
  3. 3

    Heat ghee in a pan and add cinnamon sticks, cardamoms, chopped dry fruits and stir fry.

    Transfer the cooked rice to a bowl and add the fried dry fruits and sugar.

    Heat ghee in a pan and shallow fry the pineapple pieces.

    Add sugar and let the pineapples cook.
  7. 7

    Add khoa to the rice mixture and mix well.
  8. 8

    Transfer the rice to the pan and press it lightly.

    Cover the pan and let the pineapple and rice cook.

    Transfer the rice and pineapple mixture to a plate.
  11. 11

    Garnish the zarda with mint leaves and rose petals.
  12. 12

    Ananas Ka Zarda is ready to serve.
