Aaloo Beans and Maa Chole ki Dal
Chef Pallavi’s guest, a doting dad of two kids, makes some wonderful Aloo Beans and Maa Chole ki Dal. The dal is a mixture of urad and chana dal and is tempered with ghee and spices while the aloo beans sabzi is a simple mixed vegetable. Although both the recipes look easy and straightforward, their taste is just superb.

INGREDIENTS

  • FOR Maa Chole ki Dal
  • 500 grams black gram
  • 250 grams Bengal gram
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 dry red Kashmiri chilli
  • 1/4 tsp asafoetida
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • Salt as per taste
  • FOR Aaloo Beans
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp turmeric powder
  • Salt as per taste
  • 250 grams chopped potatoes
  • 1 tbsp red chilli powder
  • 500 grams chopped french beans
  • 1 cup water
  • FOR garnish
  • Coriander leaves

HOW TO PREPARE AALOO BEANS AND MAA CHOLE KI DAL

    In a heated pan, add cooked black gram and Bengal gram For tadka, add oil in a pan Add chopped onion, dried Kashmiri chillies, asafoetida, red chilli powder and pour the tadka in the dal Add salt as per taste and mix it.

    For Aaloo Beans, add oil in a heated pan Add cumin seeds, turmeric powder, salt as per taste, chopped potatoes and mix Add red chilli powder, chopped french beans and mix it Add water, chopped coriander leaves and mix.

    Garnish the dal and sabzi with coriander leaves and serve.
